MD's Update - June 2021

Dear Valued Customers and Somfy Friends,

Welcome to our Winter 2021 issue of Motoreyes.

The 2021 business year continues extremely positively credited to the Home Improvements boom and the work-from-home market driver, triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Window Covering Industry, like many other sectors, continues to benefit from this world-wide market situation. Supply chain challenges remain the single biggest risk for market players to meet their customer’s current and future demands.

World-wide there has been unprecedented demand for global semi-conductor chips strongly affecting computers, cars, whitegoods, and similarly home automation products. The global pandemic has also caused shortages of raw materials and additional delays. This booming and abrupt rise in market demand is still with us for the foreseeable future.

At Somfy we have implemented extraordinary measures to mitigate risks and to meet the unprecedented demand and supply chain challenges. Currently within Somfy Oceania, the impacted products (SKU’s) are presently around 3% of our portfolio, but includes some key products, such as Connexoon Window RTS.

During these times let’s work together and stay in touch about stock and future availability; there are no guarantees and on occasion we will offer product substitution. We will also be airfreighting (instead of sea-freight) as much as possible from our European Logistics Centres to compress end-to-end supply.

Please enjoy this issue of Motoreyes and hope to see you at SpecTex 21 Trade Exhibition in Sydney next month.

Take care,

Stephen Eggleton
