MD's Update - June 2022

A new Federal Government, more travel freedoms, new macro-economic challenges, an even tighter labour market and continuing global supply chain impacts… all this and more since our last issue of Motoreyes.

Mid-year 2022, business for Somfy and our partners remains “bullish” and even with current supply issues of some key “controls” items (due to the global semi-conductor crisis), we are significantly ahead of last year with strong growth in all segments. Many solar shading projects however have been delayed over recent months and we have all been sharing the pain. Material shortages and cost increases, labour shortages, transport issues, adverse weather… everything is in the mix and yet we are all so busy. A unique time and a very strange by-product of the pandemic and many global external factors.

In this issue of Motoreyes we share our clear and unambiguous position on “Button Battery Compliance”.  We talk new “ Glydea Silent Accessories”. We provide a reminder to download upcoming RRP updates, especially given the global Somfy price increase of +4.5% from 1 July 2022 and some other topics.

Within the Somfy Oceania team we have had a few changes. Mary Ladu, our Marcom Manager went on parental leave in May and has since had a boy, Matteo. Mandy Francis, Digital Marketing Specialist, has joined us to cover for Mary during her parental leave… welcome Mandy. Vikas Pruthi, Operations Manager, has left the business and Michael Tosi has been promoted to Supply Chain & Customer Care Manager. Great work Michael. Overall, the Somfy team is in great shape as we continue to support our loyal and dedicated customers.  Again, thank you for your patience and ongoing support.

Talk again soon.
