Somfy launches voice control compatibility with IFTTT

Somfy customers can now unlock the power of voice control with IFTTT compatibility. All Somfy RTS products controlled using our home automation solution, Connexoon Window RTS, can be linked to an IFTTT account and operated using Google Home and Amazon Echo.

The exciting new addition uses the IFTTT platform to control window coverings via the Connexoon Window RTS app. The platform can trigger scenes and set schedules using voice commands or set automations.

Somfy RTS products can now be operated using natural language commands for an intuitive experience, to open and close window coverings and turn RTS-enabled lights and Phillips HUE lights on or off.

Scenes and schedules set up in the easy-to-use IFTTT app use simple phrases to trigger actions. For example, saying “Alexa, trigger good morning” can trigger blinds and curtains to open and outdoor lights to turn off.” Alternatively, a command such as “Ok Google, good night,” will turn off indoor lighting and close all window coverings for privacy and security.

All existing Connexoon scenes can be set up to be voice controlled. For example, if your customers have created a ‘movie’ scene which closes blinds and turns on certain lights, they simply need to say “Ok Google, launch movie scenario” to trigger the action. A simple voice command is all it takes to transform a living room into a home theatre!

With compatibility with over 600 services, including Connexoon Window RTS, IFTTT brings a complete smart home experience to your customers.
