Button Battery Compliance

As a responsible supplier, Somfy is committed to ensuring our products are not only safe, but adhere to the latest versions of the various standards set out by ACCC, ACMA and ERAC.

The Consumer Goods (Products Containing Button/Coin Battery) Safety Standard 2020 is a critical step in preventing potential life threatening injuries to children, and became a mandatory safety standard from 22 June 2022 for all residential applications.

In line with the consumer safety standard AS/NZS 62368-1:2018, all Somfy products which contain a button battery are sold ‘packaged with accompanying instructions’. Warnings and markings relating to the potential dangers surrounding button battery, can be found on the product’s packaging and within the accompanying instructions.

NOTE: In order to remain compliant with the button battery safety standards, retailers MUST ensure that the instructions and packaging (inclusive of the warnings & markings) is provided to all end-users at the time of installation.
