Dear Valued Customers and Somfy Friends,

Welcome to our final issue of Motoreyes for 2021, closing the door on yet another rollercoaster year which impacted our industry in many ways.

This year, we took on board the learnings from last year and continued to adapt the way we worked, shopped, and interacted. The Home Improvement sector continued to boom and with every State in Australia except Tasmania in lockdown during some point in the year, end customers turned online to continue their research as part of their product journey.

To meet this demand, and with many showrooms across Australia closed, Somfy Oceania launched our Virtual Showroom, providing end customers with the ability to experience Somfy motorisation and control from the comfort of their home. Our library of digital tools was also enhanced with the addition of the Help Me by Somfy App, giving installers intuitive and convenient installation of Somfy solutions.

Our commitment to sustainability was further strengthened with continued efforts into Sustainable Development and Somfy’s global ambition for 100% of products sold in 2030 to be labelled ACT FOR GREEN®. Somfy’s suite of eco-designed ACT FOR GREEN® products have been developed to reduce environmental impact through an approach of eco-responsibility to buildings, products, and teams.

I am proud to say that we had an incredibly strong year, with many success stories coming from within Somfy and from our customers. Although it was not without challenges - namely navigating the supply chain - we remained focused and resilient and were able to capitalise on the increased demand and new opportunities. A special thank you here to the Somfy Oceania team, for going above and beyond assisting our customers.

Regarding supply chain into 2022, with some specific SKU’s / product categories adversely impacted by global component shortages, it will still be some time before back-order stabilisation can be achieved and production above demand and our stock levels to normalise at global and local distribution centres. During this time, we thank everyone for their patience, professionalism, and on-going support.      

Locally, we will be celebrating 35 years of Somfy Oceania in 2022 and look forward to celebrating with you all face-to-face in the new year.
