MD's Update - July 2019

Welcome to the second half of the year and our latest issue of Motoreyes.

Last month we took part in another very successful BMAA SuperExpo. I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our loyal customers, business partners and friends who visited the Somfy stand – our biggest yet - over the three days of the Expo. The focus of our stand was around smart products and smart solutions, such as APP control, voice control, WireFree battery motors and smart obstacle detection with Maestria, which launched earlier this year.

We also celebrated 50 years of Somfy globally with a fantastic customer event on the Thursday afternoon. The stand was overflowing with people, connecting and commemorating a momentous occasion for the Somfy brand.

It has been interesting looking back at 50 years of Somfy and all the advances in technology that have been made since we began in 1969. I was recently asked what the next 50 years look like for Somfy and it certainly is exciting. There will be a lot of disruptors out there and Somfy as a company need to be agile and in the right shape to take on the challenge of the future.

You can watch all the action from SuperExpo, and hear from some of our customers and Somfy staff in the videos on our YouTube channel.

Internally, we are proud to be partnering with Habitat for Humanity and Somfy Foundation again this year for some volunteer days. Members of the Somfy Oceania team will be donning overalls and helping paint a transitional house for women and children escaping domestic violence. The work we do with the Foundation is thoroughly rewarding, and as a business, it’s important we recognise the need to give back to our community.

As we approach high season, we will be working hard to support all of our customers in the months ahead to continue to achieve success together!

Best Regards,
