MD's Update - September 2021

Dear Valued Customers and Somfy Friends,

Welcome to our Spring 2021 issue of Motoreyes.

As our most populous cities across Australia & New Zealand remain in COVID lock-down, the rest of the cities and regions continue to trade in this “new” normal world we are now living. To everyone impacted by lock-down, directly, or indirectly, my heartfelt good wishes and thanks go to you. Particularly the Somfy team and our trusted business partners in Sydney and Melbourne. It has and continues to be tough, but hope is around the corner, with opening-up likely within about 5-weeks based on the current COVID Government data.

“High season” is likely to come later this year, although external products sales are already strong. Interior products pent-up demand is expected to challenge us all. One of the key learnings for me during the past 18-months is to focus on what we can control, not what we can’t control. Mindfulness is also highly important.

This issue of Motoreyes is action packed. Please take some time to view all the topics, which includes details of the launch of our Virtual Showroom, our Interactive Price List and the Help Me by Somfy App.

As I pen this introduction, we have just commenced our 2022 fiscal (Budget) planning process. It is also Sustainable Development week within the Somfy Group – a week of reflection and commitments to reducing all our environmental footprints. Just so we are really “on our toes” we are upgrading our SAGE 300 ERP system, prior to the move across to SAP in just over to 2-years.

Lots of activities everywhere we look. Serious and important issues. But please stay safe, stay focused and positive. Your local Somfy “window coverings automation” team are here to support you anyway we can. As Spring has sprung and as the Monty Python crew so aptly put it, times like this a little humour can help us:

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best
And

Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the light side of life

Please enjoy this issue of Motoreyes and I hope to see you face-to-face in what will seem like no time at all.

Take care,

Stephen Eggleton
