Somfy joins forces with Netatmo

Somfy and Netatmo have joined forces to offer optimal thermal comfort and better living for all.

With heat waves becoming more intense, and Australian summers lasting longer every year, homes will have to adapt to better cope with global warming, while controlling energy costs.

Somfy and Netatmo, two French leaders in smart home solutions, have announced the compatibility between Somfy’s TaHoma switch and Netatmo’s Smart Weather Station, allowing users to better manage their thermal comfort and save energy.

Thanks to the temperature sensor in Netatmo’s Smart Weather Station, users can program the appropriate scenario in their TaHoma app to improve thermal comfort in summer by avoiding overheating and benefiting from the natural heat of the sun in winter.

In summer, when the outside temperature becomes too high, the solar shading motorised by Somfy will close automatically to keep the house cool and reduce indoor temperature by between 4-7°C*.

Conversely, in winter, motorised shading will open to take advantage of the sun’s natural heat to warm the house, then close at nightfall to keep the heat inside, thus reducing heating consumption by between 10-30°C*.

The move is part of Somfy’s ‘So Open’ program, placing an emphasis on openness and interoperability for an optimal connected home experience.
